(1)   Chidori-ga-fuchi 千鳥ヶ淵

Nearest station: Kudanshita or Hanzomon

Light-up at night: From March 28th to April (by 10 pm)


Chidori-ga-fuchi is a moat located in the northwest of the Imperial Palace. It is said that Sir Ernest Mason Satow, British scholar and diplomat, started to plant a cherry blossom tree in front of the British embassy in 1898. Today 260 trees are planted along the roadside in this area, so Chidori-ga-fuchi are well-known for one of the best place in Tokyo.

 

(2)   Yoyogi Park 代々木公園

Nearest station: Yoyogi-koen or Harajuku or Yoyogi-hachiman

Light-up: NA

 

Yoyogi Park is the 5th biggest park in Tokyo and 700 cherry blossoms are at their best in this season.

 

(3)   Ueno Park 上野公園

Nearest station: Ueno or Yushima

Light-up: from March 18th to April 9th (by 8 pm)

 

Surprisingly, there are 800 trees in Ueno park and also well-known for the best of the best places to enjoy seeing the cherry blossoms, so that everywhere will be too crowded to walk around.
